Micro-Channeling

MICROCHANNELING

This innovative technique utilizes a micro-channeling device to deliver a customized cocktail of ingredients, that may include Botox, hyaluronic acid and/or antioxidant, skin brightening or lightening serums. The device infuses micro-droplets of your personalized recipe of ingredients through tiny sterile needles, each of which is finer in width than a strand of human hair. The liquid mixture is gently infused into the skin using a stamping motion.

Micro-Channeling helps seamlessly deliver a customizable cocktail of rejuvenating serums directly into the skin with minimal pain or downtime.

Depending on an individual’s concerns, a cocktail of dermal filler, botox, hyaluronic acid, PRP (platelet rich plasma) and/or antioxidants are applied onto and into the skin using a specialized micro-channeling device made up of surgical grade stainless steel micro needles each thinner than human hair.

  • Neuromodulators, such as Botox or Xeomin provide a natural smoothing of the skin. Applied into the dermis (not the muscle) they help shrink pores & clear acne, even decrease redness caused by roseaca.
  • Dermal Filler provides a natural-looking increase in skin suppleness, softening fine lines around the eyes, upper lip and neck lines
  • Hyaluronic acid brings deep skin hydration to the treated areas, giving it improved firmness, elasticity and smoothness.
  • PRP releases growth factors into the skin to expedite the body’s own repair process, stimulate new collagen and elastin & speed recovery time.  Micro-Needling is even more effective when combined with PRP.
  • Growth factors stimulate the skin for improved results and help maintain collagen levels.

By applying these anti-aging products directly under the skin they are absorbed much more effectively, resulting in younger, healthier and more vibrant skin.

This amazing 30 minute procedure stimulates collagen production, improves the appearance of fine lines, shrinks pores and increases skin moisture to the face and other areas such as neck, chest and the back of hands.

Results of Micro-Channeling can be seen after one treatment, however, enhanced results are most often achieved through a series of 3+ treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart.

Benefits of Skin care serums channeled into the skin:

Cytokines and Human Growth Factors  – Cytokines are cell signaling molecules that aid cell communication in immune responses and stimulate the movement of cells towards sites of inflammation and injury. Growth factors are proteins that regulate cellular growth, proliferation and differentiation, maintaining healthy skin structure. Stem cells in the skin’s dermis layer actually produce growth factors, which promote the formation of collagen and elastic fibers and stimulate skin repair and regeneration, healing wounds and rejuvenating signs of aging–reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, evening out pigmentation, and smoothing and softening uneven or rough skin texture.

Peptides – Peptides are chains of amino acids that stimulate collagen production to strengthen skin and minimize wrinkling resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin.

Vitamins A, B5, C, E & Co-enzyme Q10 – anti-aging anti-oxidants that assist cells in building collagen and elastin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Plant Isoflavones and other botanical antioxidants – revitalizing anti-aging ingredients that fortify the dermis by limiting the degradation of structural proteins caused by aging, reducing the depth of wrinkles, improving skin hydration and elasticity for an overall improvement in skin tone.

Ceramide A2 and other emollients – increase the skin’s ability to retain water, aid in repairing cell membranes and restoring the skin’s natural lipid barrier, giving skin a smooth, silky feel.

Sodium Hyaluronate – provides exceptional lubricating qualities, having the ability to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Retaining water in the skin aids cell protection and maintenance.

Potential Risks,

The majority of clients do not experience any complications with micro-channeling, it is important you understand that risks do exist. The micro-channeling procedure is minimally invasive, but because micro-channeling penetrates the skin, it inherently carries health risks, including but not limited to those listed below. You should discuss any and all health concerns with your skincare therapist PRIOR to receiving this treatment.
PAIN – There may be a slight discomfort, burning, scratchy, or irritated sensation to the skin. This is usually temporary and is gone within a few hours after treatment. If there is a sudden reappearance of redness and pain, it may be a sign of infection or allergic reaction and you should contact your physician immediately.
PERSISTENT REDNESS, ITCHING, AND/OR SWELLING – Itching, redness, and swelling are normal parts of the healing process. These symptoms rarely persists longer than 24 hours.
ALLERGIC REACTION – Since micro-channeling is performed with a sterile hypodermic head, an allergic reaction is unlikely; However, an allergy can occur with the products used on the face in conjunction with the micro-channeling procedure or post-procedure. Micro-channeling increases the penetration of topical substances, so it can cause you to be hypersensitive to products used on the face. If an allergic reaction were to occur, you should contact your physician immediately.
INFECTION – Infection is very unusual. However, viral, bacterial, and fungal infections can occur anytime the integrity of the skin is compromised. Should infection occur, you should contact your physician immediately.
PIGMENTATION -Because dermal penetration is so superficial it doesn’t extend into the layer of the skin containing melanocytes, hyperpigmentation is very rare with micro-needling; However, failure to follow post-treatment instructions can put you at risk for hyperpigmentation. You MUST avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks after a micro-needling treatment. You should also wear a daily SPF facial moisturizer, which your skincare therapist can recommend. Lastly, avoid picking and/or peeling the skin during healing period.
SCARRING – Although normal healing after the procedure is expected, in rare cases, such as if you are prone to keloid scarring, thickened or keloid scars may result.
RESULTS – Micro-channeling may not completely or permanently perfect your skin texture, tone, elasticity, scars, wrinkles, or hyperpigmentation. It is important that your expectations be realistic and that you understand the procedure has its limitations. Additional procedures may be necessary to achieve desired effect.

What is the Difference between Microchanneling and Microneedling?

Both microneedling and microchanneling fall under the category of causing micro wounds. Both treatments use a device to puncture the epidermis of the skin with fine needles, creating tiny micro-injuries. Each micro-injury creates a channel that triggers the body to heal these microscopic wounds, producing new collagen and elastin. Our radiofrequency microneedling uses energy to create the injury, Fractora. Microchanneling is performed manually to deliver different formulations into the skin while creating the micro-injury.
